It's in our nature and part of sustaining long-term value. Argent is an active member of the British Council for Offices, the British Property Federation, Constructing Excellence in the Built Environment, Business in the Community, London First, Central London Partnership, the Investment Property Forum, and the British Urban Regeneration Association.

In Birmingham, we took a lead role in the Broad Street Association and were instrumental in founding the Broad Street Business Improvement District (BID), which is now delivering an extra £1.5 million of investment in Broad Street amenities over five years: warden services, a business area radio link, an area lighting programme and new street cleaning services.

In Manchester, we initiated the setting up of the Piccadilly Partnership. The Partnership was formed in 2003 with the aim of repositioning the Piccadilly area, steering its ongoing regeneration and sustaining inward investment. It brings together key landowners, Manchester City Council, the City Centre Management Company, the Transport Authority, other public sector services and local businesses. The Partnership works to enhance the built environment; improve the area's public realm; and enhance Piccadilly's image.

We hope to see equally successful partnerships at King's Cross, to make the most of the regeneration opportunity and deliver lasting benefits for residents, businesses and visitors.
